Believe it or not for these many years I have been able to get by without my own personal computer. I know hard to believe, but somehow I have been resourceful enough to stay connected without having to make such a purchase. Since I have a work pc and I can use the pc's of family when in dire need, I haven't bit the bullet and bought my own computer yet.
Recently I have decided it is time to get my own. (Probably since I haven't had facebook access for several months. I feel like I am neglecting my friends. Probably many of you.)
So here is the question I pose to you Mac or PC? I know this can be a sensitive topic. It's almost as sensitive as Coke or Pepsi, but and I hope my decision what ever it is doesn't effect our friendship either way.
At this point this is what is important to me.
1. Speed
2. User friendly.
3. Live person technical assistance readily available when I need it for no or minimal cost.
4. Picture and video friendly
So tell me what do you have and what do you like or not wish you could improve about it?

Gateways
A few years ago while at a social gathering I had a conversation with an acquaintance. Somehow we began talking about gateway drugs. He shared his opinion that he did not think that marijuana was a gateway drug. I listened to him and his perspective. Although I disagreed with him, I didn’t say anything in rebuttal because I thought the only way to convince him otherwise was to give him some statistical information of which I did not have. Since then that statement has stayed in the back of my mind.
This last week, I have had some new thoughts about this topic. This last week I was thinking about the “spirit of the Word of Wisdom.” For those of you who are not familiar with my faith the Word of Wisdom is a commandment that was revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith. This commandment instructs us to take care of our bodies and health. It teaches us to abstain from tobacco, liquor and hot drinks, specifically coffee and tea. It also has other instruction on how diet. As I thought about the Word of Wisdom, I concluded that the Word of Wisdom was a gateway commandment.
From my personal experience living the Word of Wisdom has provided a gateway to places of peace, cleanliness, purity, and worship, like the temple. It has been the gateway to improved relationships with my family and friends. It has been the gateway to safety. So even though I do not have the statistical information on whether or not marijuana is a gateway drug to worse and more terrible drugs, I do have the personal experience that living the Word of Wisdom, which most definitely excludes the use of marijuana has been the gateway to more beautiful and lovely things.

Ether 2:25 reads: “And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?”
This reminds me of Elder Eyring’s (2005 General Conference) talk about being spiritual steady. He said the storms of life will come to all of us. We need to be spiritually prepared.
I love how Heavenly Father says, you cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. He is willing to help us make it through.
So he asks us what should I prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea? He asks what do we think we will need.
I have never read this scripture in this light before.
